Beaches Bingo for Chamber president All puppies are adorable, right? A brilliant ploy to attract customers? Not really â€" though, according to the boss, the pups seemed to be a hit with her clients. No, it seems they‘re just part and parcel of the busy life of this businesswoman and mother of four children (two still in house). In addition to being presiâ€" dent of the Chamber this year, the energetic Kerby is the president of the local chapter of her sororiâ€" ty, Beta Sigma Phi. An eclectic bunch of shopâ€" keepers, lawyers, restauranteurs and more, together they provide a strong voice for free enterprise (and fair taxation?) in the commuâ€" nity. As it turned out, Kerby really enjoyed her initial involvements with the volunteerâ€"led business organization and has served on a variety of committees over the last 10 years. Plus, there was a social component to the Chamber of Commerce that she hadn‘t (See ‘Kerby‘ page 19) "Oakville does not lack for travel agencies!" But that‘s another story.)
