This Sunday, Rives will mark the anniversary of their first meeting and his birthday with a reading at the Hamilton Arts Council from 2 to 4 p.m. During his time in jail, Rives often found himself writing beautiful poems about Katarina Witt, the figure skater. She was his "ideal woman," just as Dante had Beatrice. Now he has found his real life Beatrice. Three years ago, he signed a woman‘s book at one of his first readings and the second time they met the pair stayed up all night talking and reciting poetry.
