Published reports state the family is selling a 49 per cent stake in the Georgetown-based company with the deal valued at about $150 million, however, Mold-Masters CEO Jonathon Fischer would neither confirm or deny those figures. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval. On Thursday, Fischer said the sole purpose of the partnership with 3i is to bring Mold-Masters "to the next level." In a press release issued on behalf of the companies Wednesday it was stated the investment by 3i is seen as an opportunity to better position Mold-Masters to "capitalize on its global growth opportunities." Fischer said Mold-Masters had been seeking a partner since late last year. The Georgetown company, founded in 1963 by Jobst and Waltraud Gellert, is the leading global manufacturer of hot runner systems for the plastic injection moulding industry. The systems are used across a number of industries including consumer packaging, telecommunications, electronics, automotive and health care. See CEO, pg. 5 REFINANCING? PURCHASING? For breaking news go to: www.independentfreepress.com A bucket of trouble Melissa Harvey-Daniell and her husband Warren Daniell averted tragedy at their Georgetown home last week when they pulled their two-year old daughter Isabelle from a bucket of water she had tumbled into headfirst while playing in their backyard. The couple had only taken their eyes off the girl for a few seconds and hadn't considered the shallow water in the bucket to be a danger. They want other parents to be aware all standing water can be dangerous to a child. Harvey-Daniell is pictured with the bucket and her daughters (from left) Kelsey, 5, Isabelle, 2 and Megan, 9.
