Photo by Ted Brown Retail centre in works for Corridor LISA TALLYN Staff Writer Plans are in the works for a large retail centre in the Halton Hills 401/407 Gateway Business Park (401Corridor). Peter Klutt, president of Legendary Motorcar Company Ltd. on Fifth Line, has purchased a 36-acre property located east of James Snow Parkway on the south side of Steeles Ave. and partnered with Markhambased North American Property Group on the project. The deal on the property is expected to close shortly, Klutt said. While Klutt stressed the centre is only in the preliminary planning stages, he said, "our goal is to create something different in retail there." "Our long term goal is to move the (Legendary Motorcar) showroom out to the highway," said Klutt. He said currently Nascar Canadian Tire Series and the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame are also located in the Legendary Motorcar building on Fifth Line and he hopes they will join him in the move "to create a classic car performance type complex." His plan is to have other retail stores in the development geared to the type of customer-- mostly men-- that would be drawn to the Legendary Motorcar 50-car showroom. He said, for example, a parts store, hardware store or men's clothing store might fit in well. See PLANS, pg. 3 WEDNESDAY...
