Renowned artist delves into new art form for ArtsWeek As part of Halton Hills ArtsWeek, Carol-Ann Michaelson, an award-winning, internationally-recognized craftsperson, will be premiering a new creative venture-- one-of-a-kind cloth purses-- at the Art in the Glen event. The new product line will be called PURSEnality. Over the last number of years in her search for woollen fabric for rug hooking, Michaelson has come across beautiful used woollen and cashmere clothing. By deconstructing and altering them through felting and other methods, she has turned them into playful, funky and very functional purses. Michaelson can be found at the Beaumont barn directly opposite the Williams Mill Creative Arts Centre in Glen Williams. During Art in the Glen (May 5 and 6), the barn will be transformed into a gallery of artists and craftspeople. For more ArtsWeek events see www.haltonhillsartsweek.ca.
