Georgetown Pipe Band seeks more members The Georgetown Pipe Band, fresh from competition at the World Pipe Band Championship this summer in Glasgow, Scotland is looking for more members. The band also competed at the Bute Highland Games in Rothesay, Scotland, where they placed fifth in a strong field of competition. Georgetown Pipe Band is made up of adults and young people and meets weekly at the Lions Hall. Pipe Major Tracy Porter invites any experienced pipers or drummers who are interested in playing in our competition bands to contact by e-mail at porterte@rogers.com. The band has two experienced instructors Tom Anderson on pipes and Graham Kirkwood on drums. The band also teaches beginner pipers and drummers.
