Municipality of Halton Halton Region Influenza (Flu) Clinics to Start in Mid-November Halton Region is advising residents that Influenza (Flu) Immunization Clinics will start in mid-November this year due to a delay with vaccine production that is affecting many communities across Canada. In addition to the delay affecting Health Department clinics, flu vaccine offered by physicians and local pharmacies will also be delayed as a result of this situation. Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce with Junior Achievement received $25,000 over two years to expand the J.A. program in Halton Hills. In response to demand by schools and students, the goal is to increase the program by 230 per cent. Talk `n Tumble program, led by Halton Hills Gymnastics Centre partnered with the Halton Hills Speech Centre, received $47,816 over three years. This is a participation class for children with special needs to let them explore use of gym equipment safely and effectively and promote development of social and communication skills. Funds will be used to pay for coaches' salaries, gym equipment, professional fees and training. Arts Alive received $4,000 for its Celebration of Arts to be held this October. This celebration acknowledges the contribution of arts related to community groups in Halton Hills, provide an opportunity to showcase talent and to mark the 25th anniversary of the Halton Hills Cultural Centre. The Halton Healthy Community Funding Partners have been working together for nine years. The partners include the Town of Halton Hills and the Halton Hills United Way.
