Georgetown Seniors plan fall luncheon FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre Busy! Busy! Busy! That is the only way to describe life at the Georgetown Seniors Centre the week of Sepember 11th. I hope you were able to make it to the Open House Week. Many new faces were seen in the crowds and many took part in the demonstration classes. The barbecue held on the Tuesday of that week was a huge success. People were lined up outside the door to get hot dogs, corn on the cob, and a drink. I understand they ran out of wieners and had to rush out for more. The price was certainly right! By Friday afternoon the place had settled down a little and now all the programs have started. Check with the front desk or with your The Hilltops for times if you are not sure. I think there is still some room in some of the classes. The next luncheon has been moved to October 3. All lunches begin at 12:30 p.m. and cost $7. It is necessary to sign up for lunch in order to give the lunch team an idea of the number to prepare for. You won't want to miss this luncheon. The Drama Club are presenting one of the funniest skits you will ever see. Seating is limited so get your name down quickly. On Friday, Oct. 6 a busload of us are setting out at 8:15 a.m. from Mold-Masters SportsPlex on a wonderful mystery tour in Search of the Red Leaf. It will be loads of fun. See you all aboard! Please join the Centre in celebrating Adriana Lawless' retirement after 12 years with the Town of Halton Hills Seniors' Centres on Thursday, Oct. 12, 1-4 p.m. at the Georgetown District Seniors Centre located at 318 Guelph Street, Unit 9. In your The Hilltops you will find a form to fill in-- $5 towards gift, $5 towards refreshments. This must be returned by Friday, Sept 29 to Sherry Mitchell at the Centre, or you may pay at the front desk. For more information please call 905-877-6444. A reminder that the Centre will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 9. Come on out to the Georgetown Seniors Centre. Get involved! Make new friends! Share in the good times!
