Keep fair a fun-filled event This weekend, the Georgetown Agricultural Society is offering our community the 160th Georgetown Fall Fair. This event continues to promote community involvement in education and raising awareness of our agricultural base. It is believed that by staging an event that both educates and entertains, the Georgetown Agricultural Society can provide a venue that unites our community and exposes us to the rich rural and urban variety we are fortunate to have in our locale. This year I have the pleasure of representing your Halton Regional Police Service at the Georgetown Fall Fair. While I am fulfilling my policing duties, I encourage you to say "Hello", or tell me what rides are worth lining up for and also what fair-like cuisine you recommend. Along with my efforts, and the efforts of my colleagues, community volunteers and the Georgetown Agricultural Society, I would like to ask you to also promote a peaceful, safe and enjoyable fair for our community and neighbouring communities. This is an alcohol-free event aimed towards the enjoyment of the entire family, young Const. Chris Borak and old alike. Personally I am hoping for a fall fair filled with good weather, good times, scrumptious fried foods, cotton candy and a pride-filled sense of "community". Your attendance, participation and enjoyment of the fall fair keeps this 160-year-old tradition alive. See you there. Contact me personally for crime prevention tips at 905-878-5511 extension 2470, or by e-mailing chris.borak@hrps.on.ca. Please reserve the 911 system for emergency calls only. --Const. Chris Borak is the community support officer for District 1 80th Birthday OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th from 1- 4 p.m. at Tim MacArthur's Farm 5446 3rd Line Eramosa Phone 519-833-9908 for directions if necessary.
