Georgetown Hospital offers COPD clinic for people with lung ailments The Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinic at Georgetown Hospital offers an education and exercise program for individuals with chronic obstructive lung disease (chronic bronchitis or emphysema). The next session of this sevenweek program starts Tuesday, April 11 and is held two afternoons per week from 2 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. The program, which includes education through group sessions and an individualized exercise program, aims to decrease hospital visits and improve quality of life through enhanced self-management skills and increased exercise capacity for patients with COPD. Mayor hosts successful lunch for youth centres Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette once again showed his commitment to the youth of Halton Hills! On Friday, March 24, Ares Restaurant was filled to capacity for a luncheon to raise money for Open Door Youth Centre in Georgetown and Off the Wall Youth Centre in Acton. Host Mayor Bonnette arranged an exceptional motivational speaker, Paul Rosen, who captivated the audience with his inspiring stories. Rosen, also known as `Rosey', is the goalie for the Canadian Paralympic sledge hockey team, and is also a member of the gold medal-winning team, which has recently returned from Turin, Italy. Rosen reflected on his life experiences, positive outlook on life and of course, his hockey career, specifically the Olympic experience. Procession on Friday, March 14, will start from the Canada Trust (James St. and Main St.) at 1 p.m., proceed down Main St. to Maple Ave. and up Maple to the Maple Ave. Baptist Church where it will conclude at 1:45 p.m. with a dramatic re-enactment of the crucifixion.
