He died peacefully with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Lille Francis, loved father of Lorrie (Greg) RyanLewis, Patricia (Fred) Kentner, June (Paul) Colbourne, Kate (Rob) Hall. Predeceased by his daughter Maggie Hall and son-in-law Kevin Hall. Loving grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 18. Son of the late David and May Given of Georgetown. Sargent Thomas B. Given served overseas for 5 years during WWII, serving with the Lorne Scots in England and saw action in France with the Highland Light Infantry. He worked at the Domtar papermill for 45 years and ran a dairy and beef farm in Ballinafad for 38 years. Tom and Lille retired to Acton where they were active in the Senior Citizens organization. Tom was a life member of the Georgetown Fire Department and a life member of over 60 years with the Georgetown Legion. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was a great friend to many. Tom left this life as he lived it, with honour, quiet courage and dignity. He will be forever missed. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Sunday March 5th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
