robinson explained that the peace garden is a school initiative that will provide a place where students can come to reflect on the wonders of gods creation it will give students ownership of ways that can help protect and care for the environment it will support the science religion and social studies curriculum students will have the opportunity to observe the diversity of living things watch plants butterflies and other loving things it will be a place of peace where teachers and stu dents can pray and reflect about peace in the school com munity and the world to evaluate the grant applications received eight evergreen staff worked with a team of 10 professionals from across canada who volunteered their time five objectively reviewed the grants arid five more from bc mb on qc ns evaluated each schools nature plant choices reviewers included professionals from the ontario ministry of the environment the toronto regional conservation authority green teacher magazine
