severe anorexia nervosa this addi tional program complements the hospitals current outpatient treat ment program for bulimic girls the need for the service was iden tified following extensive consulta from experience that the entire family is affected when a child suffers from a chronic eating disorder as a great deal of time and energy must be committed to a structured treatment plan to be able to provide this service in new market is a significant benefit for the residents of york region and simcoe county said hospital vice- president pat norman the eating disorder service will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team including child psychiatry psychology social work nursing clinical dietitian and child youth worker referrals to the eating disorder service must be made by a physi cian and will be accepted in janu ary the physician will remain responsible for their clients until the program opens eating disorders can be chronic debilitating illnesses and it is esti mated that ten per
