game at the rec centre field tuesday evening and when the fast paced hard fought game was over the spurs had convinced themselves and their fans that they are able to play with thebest i the hellenics who currently occupy fifth place in the 11 team first division of the newmarket and district soccer league hung on to nip the spurs 21 s the spurs who are in second spot in the newmarket leagues second division could have just as easily walked away with a tie or a win according to cocoach alfbns rubpens it was a close well played game said rubbens it could have gone either way the visitors played on diamonds one and two throughout the weekend while the stouffville indians pee wee rep hardball team is hosting their ontario baseball association oba divisional finals on diamonds three arid four while the ladies competition is made up of seven put of town teams the hardball tourney is madeup of the eight outfits from the york simcoe league in which the indians play the stouffville squad will be going up against crews from uxbridge midland brace- bridge vaughan keswick and a pair of teams from woodbridge some of the games may have to be played in uxbridge according to indians manager dave wood who cited the limitations brought on by playing two tourneys in one weekend as limit ing diamond access in stouffville the winner of sunday afternoons champi onship match will go on to
