1 feels right at home in his new role ive forked there as a volun teer over the last five years and my wife worked at parkview home for five years he explains i was in educational adminis tration for the city of north york board of education and i retired as a principal last june his search for a second career led him to apply for the position at parkview its very close to home and its in the area of working with people which i thoroughly enjoy weve been in the stouffville area since 1967 and our chil dren grew up in town the new job is going just great he said ive had a tremendous wel come schools address war concerns sharon sawkins principal of whitchurch highlands public school said that area schools had received directives from the york board of education on how to deal with students ques tions on the gulf war we have to take into account the level of involvement and understanding of students when ever it comes up the school has a small ethnic population she added and so far she hasnt had a lot of stu dent reaction although jim jefferis princi pal at ballantrae public school hasnt been asked directly about the war a number of students are asking teachers questions either individually or in the classroom he said i think the teachers are trying to respondto them as much as possible without creating anxi ety or fear explaining that it isnt going to affect them direct- hi
