liberal incensed about misleading comments dear sir as a member of the markham liberal riding association i was incensed by the letter written by ron maheu and printed in your paper page 5 weekender april 25 further i was concerned by mr maheus misleading remarks following the nomination and therefore wish to set the record straight firstly nearly 800 markham residents joined the liberal party in support of michael kusner rec ognizing the contribution a man of his abilities could make to our riding in fact as i understand it near ly half the ballots cast at the meet- library dating system has this reader upset the following is an open letter to louise brill chairman of the markham library board dear louise just recently i took some books out of the markham library i was appalled and angry to see the method used for dating books there must be a more efficient and more aesthetically pleasing method than datestamping a book over its cover as a teacherlibrarian i am will aware of the cost of providing new books as well as keeping them in good repair part and par cel of my work is to encourage children to care for books in their possession we as taxpayers provide con siderable funds to build our col lections yet at the same time our present system proceeds to place these ugly stickers all over our book covers there is no logic in this procedure i find it dis tasteful i stongty urge our library board to delve into other methods so that our books are not needlessly defaced l beauchamp markham ing favored mr kusner to call into question the integrity of a man with such impeccable credentials as mr kusner is most unfair indeed i am sure mr maheu as a responsible individual and good liberal has by now had time to make proper enquiries as i had done and has verified that mr kusner indeed assists in pre paration of speeches and policy statements for premier david peterson mr kusner has been assisting in development of policy positions for the liberal party in ontario since 1971 since 1971 mr kusner worked closely with every leader of the party many of the positions developed by mr kusner over the years have become planks in the party platform i personally feel honored to have worked with him and am proud to have come out to support him may i add as well that all liberals will now join together to ensure that we achieve a victory in the next election
