bestskaters during the three day event in the prestigious novice ladies competitive final on sunday night tracy taylor a recent arrival to uxbridge from whitby skated to the gold medal jennifer cook of the ux bridge skating club did not compete in this event as she is preparing for her trip to the canada winter games next month troy mccully of uxbridge won the gold in the novice mens final mccully along with partner jill cassie also skated to gold in the prenovice dance final in the prepreliminary mens final uxbridges greg irwin took the gold in the junior dance final luke austin and sandra cas sie of uxbridge finished third jill cassie also finished third in the prenovice ladies final savina sindlay of uxbridge finished third in the junior ladies final in the prenovice mens fin won them the game and it was a close game with newtonbrook edging stouffville 21 for the championship stouffville scored their only goal with 30 seconds remaining in the game robyn boyd on a set up by karen bach finally broke the new tonbrook goalies shut out stouffville had most of the play in i the games third period but they were constantly stopped by the hot j goaltending lowery said the road to the championship was not an easy one for stouffville as they had to win two close games against mississauga and another newtonbrook squad against mississauga goalie dorothy tscheng played superbly
