on geotropism christine obrien and kelly reid came second with their study on photosynthesis followed by jen nifer holstein finishing third with an investigation into esp rachael groves work on photo synthesis finished first in the in termediated life competition second was awarded to christy houghton and her hair project with third going to the combined efforts of lisa hutchison and cheryl taylor on a study of the respiratory system in the technology class sarah primeau won the primary level competition with a look at peri scopes followed by sarah coysh and her explanation on how sugar is made third was awarded to janet tworek and her research on floating honorable mention went to chris grimes for his study of computers david fong and richard chao came first in the junior level with their work on electricity followed by the team of jarret johns and john pasalis and their compari son of floor detergents ryan mor ris with his project on finger printing tied for third with tina petkolu and her study of the elec tric telegraph philip jacobs was awarded first place in the intermediate level for his study of combustion engines second went to brent johnson who also did his work on combustion engines followed by paul purdy finishing third with his research on making paper megan wiebes water experi ments took first place in the physical earth competiton at the primary level kirsten fraser came second with her water ex periments followed by melisa sousa in third for her study of magnets honorable mentions went to randy monk for his work with rocks and bradley crawford for his research on evaporation the combined efforts of lorret- ta chang and lydia bourquis was awarded first place in the junior division for a project on colors shelly nix came second with a study of sound followed by sarah canata and her dancing moth balls finishing third honorable mentions went to tyler cave for his work with batteries and gregg mcdonald for his study on crystald billy keith and
