literally grown up on skis she took her first glide at age three and has j been gliding ever since some times faster than the wind lisa comes from a family of skiers her parents werner i and janice her brothers karl and paul and sister alice are all associated with the sport lisas a member of the b team at horseshoe valley she hopes to advance to the inter- club semifinals this vibrant outdoors week at sdss with an interest ing array of activities provided it all began wednesday was it a spirit day was it a holiday no it was bus evacuation day this brand new invention came as quite a surprise to students they were given the morning off to par ticipate all sarcasm aside the program was important to every boy and girl who will ever ride a school bus during bus evacua tion day students were shown a movie related to bus safety and participated in a simulated hazar dous situation on a real bus valentines day was filled with love and romance carnations were distributed as has been the at sdss several years what has not been customary is the danceathon this event lasting ten hours began with vdancing in a reserved section of ithe gym however as time pas sed and paying customers ar rived the barricades dis appeared proceeds will go to the schools foster children the other success story of the week belongs to the senior boys basketball team they won their garne friday and clinched a playoff spot the entertainment event of the year is set to go just over a week from now variety show 86 will open thurs feb 27 and conclude sat march 1 rehearsals have been going on all month and arc now at a frenzied pace dress re hearsal is feb 25 a few of the acts are unique these include feats of magic by jill keith and sharon moyer an original song by nancy brownsberger accom- panied by geoff tiller on keyboard jeff bower on bass and paul rochester on drums the stage band has a part and of course the choir marcy pyke president of the high school students council pro
