super she completed grade 11 with honor standing last june and hopes to repeat again this year elaine speaks in the same glowing terms of her association with canadian tire shes a parttime employee in the stouffville store after school and on saturdays i enjoy it there she says you meet many interesting people she admits that while many faces are famil iar she cant always call customers by name lastminute tests are the order examinations also loom ominously on the horizon g athletic activity has ended its been a very suc cessful year with many qualifiers for provincial championships- the most recent of these are three jumpers on our track and field team mary sled camille rutherford and tanya townend world cup soccer has come to sdss the finals are scheduled for today who will take the cup no matter which team emerges triumphant england brazil argentina or whoever it should prove an ex citing series athletes who participated in sporting events dur ing the year were honored at the may 4 athletic banquet the outstanding stars received trophies there were a number of surprises the evening was an entertaining affair complemented by rob reesors famous chicken fingers the bdnd and the choir played their final concert wednesday at ontario place capping one of the best years in sdss music history if you were just a tad curious as to what all those announcements were about your questions were hopefully answered last monday it was teacher appreciation day tad for short this was an opportunity for the students to thank members of the teaching staff for assistance and was the place of my birth and i grew up there i found it most heartwarming to learn stouffville had not changed that much from my child hood days everyone i came in touch with reached out a warm and friendly hand neighbors still seem to help neighbors and a friendly hello is heard as you pass someone on the street it restored my confidence in man kind you do not find this in larger towns and big cities do not grow too big or change too much stand up and be proud you live in stouff ville i was pleased to be part of the commun ity once again if only for a short while it will live with warmth
