stage perform ance my husbands wild desires at stouffvilles deer park theatre was noted for using words not neces sarily in the script to cure this prac tice it was announced part way through a recent show that the author had flown in from new york and was seated in the audience naturally the poor girl was upset at the plays con clusion she escaped to her dressing room and cried uncontrollably until someone bravely informed her it was all a joke growling stomach dont attend a council meeting on an empty stomach it will growl and so will the proprietor sandy ewen of ward 4 uxbridge skipped supper re cently in order to make a 730 pm session and it showed he was in volved in heated arguments with his fellow members all evening long during one volatile exchange sandy was heard to say i just got home from work im tired and hungry to which regional councillor gerrilynn oconnor replied unsympathetically then go back home mayor bill bal- linger suggested an adjournment so councillor ewen might grab a sand wich sandy declined and the war of words raged on mpp reports by now most of you living in the riding of york north have received mpp bill hodgsons informative newletter dated winter 85 in case you breezed through it two items stand out as important first bill is asking for a debate and vote by the federal government on the issue of capital punishment says hodgson i believe this issue must be debated i am doing what i can to see that the politicians responsible our mps in ottawa debate and vote on this im portant issue such a debate and vote is only simple justice to the public at large as well as the bereaved second bill places the construction cost of hwy 404 from sheppard ave nue to the bloomington road at 55 million with the total cost when com pleted at close to 67 million is it worth it from the ever increasing stream of traffic i see during morning and evening rush hours i dont know how we ever got along without it kind of scary recently my elevenyearold daughter brought home a newsletter from orchard park school included waja pamphlet on streetproofing your children i took the time to read it and learned among other things that and get this one out of every three females in ontario will be sexually molested before age eighteen the pamphlet also recom mended each family adopt a secret code and that no child accompany anyone even a close family friend unless that person is able to recite the code then once the code is used it should be changed a sad but obvious ly necessary commentary on our times taking no chances as proof that mothers wish to take no chances with respect to the safety of their children one mom at the are na recently insisted our sports edi tor jim holt produce his newspaper credentials before allowing her child to be
