weight and is very unpredictable all these factors add up to a very interesting game requiring very special skills in tournament play experience seemed to be the key to winning the junior tourney saw two teams from the same grade 10 class pitted against each other in the final with the 10g01 b team capturing the championship in the senior competition it was a battle of the grade 13s their age and experience proved too much for the younger less experienced grade 11 and 12 classes this however was no excuse for the highlyrated teacher teams in the senior final it was all grade 13 the b side staged an astonishing com eback to defeat the a squad i f the next day students of sdss were treated to a sports extravaganza feature ing boys basketball and girls volleyball junior and senior the opponent in all four games was woodbridge high in the first game the senior boys basket ball team lost an exciting 6352 match to the visitors mark morrow led the point- scorers with sixteen the senior girls volleyball match was hardfought unfortunately our side was unable to hold their onegame advantage losing two games to one the junior boys basketball squad also played well but lost out to the visiting team on the brighter side our great junior girls volleyballers saved the day crushing woodbridge 154 153 and 153 the success of this club can be attributed to their great spirit and fine allround play on friday our school continued in the summer spirit students showed up car- rying cameras and wearing sun hats and hawaiian shirts it was tourist day to make a great week even greater
