says parkview school can be reached by travell ing west off old ken nedy road main street unionville on fred varley drive to fonthill boulevard five churches in the general district associated with the east toronto fel lowship associa tion are especially interested in this project due to the fact they have mem bers now residing in the community the pastors are meeting this week with dr timothy starr secretary of the fel- lowship baptist home mission board to discuss plans for a blitz- canvass of the dis trict to make the new church known dr starr has had wide experience in this kind of work mr whitcombe said hes enthusiastic for the future of the new church in a part of markham thats growing rapidly he stated dr whitcombe will serve as its leader he is well- known inmarkham rev ws whitcombe renowned for his work in establishing congregations at vivian arid agin court has accepted yet another challenge that of organizing a baptist church in unionville a fel lowship meeting has been set for sunday oct 21 at 11 am in parkview public school fonthill boulevard north of fred varley drive jim thomas agincourt arid whitchurch- stouffville he began his ministry at what is now springvale baptist church cor ner of stouffville road and kennedy road cone 6 at the time he was still a student attending university later- dr and mrs whitcombe be gan the wishing well acres baptist church on sheppard avenue agincourt they started there with only a few chil dren meeting in the rec room of their home that was 29 years ago they had the joy and satisfac tion of seeing this small group grow into a large church with a magnificent building cornplete- ly free of debt dr whitcombe was also in strumental in start ing the mccormack memorial church at vivian for the past seven years dr whit combe has been serving as interim- pastor for several congregations hes also been writing text books for close to 200 francophone students in quebec who are preparing themselves for ser vice in french- language churches there this latest chal lenge at unionville is the fifth pioneer work in which dr whitcombe has been involved he readily accepts the challenge andis looking forward with great anticipa tion to the result with respect to the congregations inaugural meeting oct 21 dr whit combe says a cor dial invitation is ex tended to all friends to join in this histor ical fellowship that will inaugurate the beginning of this congregation pa rents without a church home con cerned that their children should re ceive christian in struction are espe cially urged to attend and bring
