profiled for the new television show pizzazz the manitoba street resident and local auctioneer was videotaped in action by global tv aug 16 the 11year stouffville resident opened terris house of four female stu dents out of a class of 30 at the mason city college of auctioneering in mason city iowa she took the course in november 1982 it lasted nine days from 8 am to 10 pm and covered the basics of auctioneering the main thing was learning number sequences she said it covered chant ing setting up auctions advertising standing up in front of people cashing clerking every problem you could possibly encounter at a sale she explained mrs surman added that while an auc tion was held during the course the real work began on her arrival back home i dont think anything could be more scary than my grand opening about 300 people showed up i found it hard to mix professionalism with personal feelings she said explain ing that it became an emotional experience when many presented her
