perry legion branch 419 taking top honors the team con sisting of wayne moore wes evans howard moore and gene hurst took home first prize of 300 and travel bags second prize went to a team from the oshawa moose lodge and third to an entry from rich mond hoi tournament or- ganizer dave mcquaker sports officer of the stouffville legion branch 459 commented that everything went very smoothly were very pleased with the success of the tournament he said im sure everyone had a good time sponsored by molsons brewery the tournament featured 38 teams of four coming from as far away as collingwood prizes for the winners were all donated or purchased through stouffville merchants the legion ladies auxiliary prepared and served lunch for par ticipants atoms unbeaten going for double top is howard moore a member of the winning port perry team in the legion dart tournament held over the weekend the tournament proved very successful and attracted 38 teams molsons brewery sponsored the event gregcoates stouffville the sound of music atom allstar steelers are still unbeaten in league play thanks to some last second heroics in their game against port perry on friday evening kevin francis rapped in jamie campbells goalmouth pass to open the scoring early in the first period with port perry replying with a pair the second period was scoreless and it was not until late in the final frame that darron baston took brad tileys pass deep in his own end and with some nifty skating carried the puck and beat the port perry goalie to make it 22 with only 14 seconds- left in the game aaron mcwilliams fed the puck to danny larmer who blasted in the winner the steelers won all three of their games at the thornton atom allstar tournament over the weekend in their first game stroud provided the steelers with some very competitive hockey the steelers finally winning 21 on goals by chris taylor from tonio trentadue and craig stronach while danny larmer potted the winner from kevin blacktop against oro the steelers were kept hustling to collect a 31 win keith piett gave larmer and blacktop the assists for their singles with jamie campbell notching the insurance goal on bastons pass in the final against wainfleet both teams deadlocked in the first period to come up scoreless danny larmer put the steelers on the board in the second period while netminder scotty evans put in a
