home in stouffville and talk to residents there the group includes- terri plette 12 cindy mcneil and jennifer sayers 11 karen nugent 10 lindsey baston and linda hachey both nine cindy admitted that when she arrived there the first time she was kind of scared but now im not she added quickly one lady she said told about her hobbies and how she had made 41 rugs i want to go back and see her again she pointed out that while some of the residents are confined to wheelchairs theyre not really sick at all lindsey said that going as a group to park view has made her want to go back on her own maybe on saturdays i can drop in she said she expressed surprise at how independent the people are she recalled offering to help one person in a wheelchair but the lady declined she wanted to do it herself she described parkview as like one big house the grade 5 student said she was amazed at the facilities there they have everything she said and people are really really nice she added age doesnt mat ter exclaimed jennifer they can do almost everything we can she recalled playing shuf- fleboard with mr sider she like lindsey wants to go back on her own when im older id like to live in a place like that she said visiting parkview was not a new experience for terri her father she said often calls there on sundays and takes several to the missionary church sometimes i go along and help terri said she met one lady from clear creek near port dover on talking to her she discovered she knew about her grandfathers garage in delhi tm really happy i chose this course agreed linda i enjoy it so much the time goes really fast the ones with problems she said arent ashamed to talk about them karen said she liked hearing about their families and sharing in games i didnt think any could bowl but some are really good one lady she said rolled the balls while seated in a wheelchair it makes us all feel good knowing that maybe we did some good concluded terri bible school markham four mennonite
