hockey games going on but to drop in on a saturday afternoon this winter the chances of seeing players from the usa switzerland the province of quebec or other centres in on- tario has become the norm this winter stouffville has played hosts to clubs from detroit michigan findlay ohio st michele quebec and from walliselien in switzerland through it all the jans and players alike have all conducted themselves in fine fashion in three of the cases mentioned we have hosted the players and their accompanying fans and parents for two and 10day stays truly we have become international hosts intertown tourney set stouffville the highlight of minor hockey week in stouffville is the third annual uxbridgestouffville hockey tournament that pits four teams from each town in a home and home series friday the tourney begins in uxbridge at 7 pm when the atoms play the peewees bantams and midgets will also play games that night sunday afternoon the action shifts to stouffville with the same four teams competing in four games the first of which i begins at 12 noon last winter we sent a team to swit zerland to play a series of games and as international visitors the word has been brought to us about the exemplary conduct of stouffvillites abroad we can take all this for granted but it has not happened to all clubs that have participated in this foreign ex change talking to a young player from trenton who participated in a trip to finland i have found out that there are those who dont have our success trenton was beaten badly in their gatnes there but did not respond in the manner required of good losers after a display of bad tempers both on and off the ice it has been requested of the provincial association in charge omha that canadians are not as welcome in that country as we were before this trip the recriminations as a result of a disasterous visit are not against the team visiting a country but against the country sending the players our congratulations to the stouffville association responsible for their hosting of the swiss and belatedly congratulations on the representations as citizens of stouffville and particularity as canadians while abroad becker midgets 20 goals added in one week stouffville the beckers milk midgets added 20 goals to atom allstars demolition done on uxbridge rouge stouffville the birkctt and hassard atoms may have to buy demolition youngsters boasts the best win record of all stouffville clubs this season after allowing newcastle a first period lead of 20 stouffvilles novice goalies play outstanding stouffville allan focklcr has been outstanding in the stouffville nets of the edwardsmurphy paint ers novice club this is the first year of omha competition for any of these boys who with the exception of losses to bay ridges and whitby have taken all lyopponents uxbridge was sent home stinging from a 41 loss to the painters barry smith led the way for stouffville with three goals bradley jones scored stouffvilles other goal and shane redshaw had the only uxbridge marker tim mcneil tim yeomans robert millwain mark murphy and mike glen drew assists in the contest stouffville shutout west rouge in their last meeting 40 mark
