for example revealed only one windmill and although she was completely caught up in spanish enthusiasm at the bull fights maureen is not ready for a second such experience yet our canadian young people who flocked to europe this summer by the thousands were proud to show their canadian flag maureen found and in such countries as ger many it was a welcome emblem the only country not too friendly to young travellers was spain where they sometimes had a happy knack of obtaining passports and selling them back at the border from barcelona maureen had a perfect vantage point for the rocks and luxury of the riviera the back seat of a motor bike she spent a short time in rome but managed to see most places of in terest including a production of aida at the forum there was a memorable day of wild bargaining and selective shopping at the flea market in florence where leather goods were terribly tempting and the gloves as soft as marshmallows switzerland was her favourite country the scenery was so beautiful and there were even more flowers and chalets than she had dreamed of seeing through an unexpected new friend she wound the clock in the tower of the town hall in lucerne by swinging rocks at the end of ropes and was in troduced to swiss cheese
