tribune editor jim thomas has kindly con sented to allow me space for a column on recreation during the summer vacation period a privilege i sincerely appreciate during the past week a recreation survey form has been circulated throughout stouffville to assist us in determining the villages recreation needs i would briefly like to explain just what the survey means and what we expect to gain from it i am asking that you underline your familys areas of interest pertaining to recreation or write in your own ideas in the appropriate age group classification before stouffville can have organized programs of recreation i must know what the peoples in terests are i certainly do not wish to offer ac tivities that you the residents do not want so far there has been an obvious reluctance to fill out and return these forms i am therefore extending the deadline date to friday may 29 at 4 pm they should be left at the municipal office on civic street since beginning mv work here as recreation co ordinator in stouffville i have met many people and have been invited to many local functions and meetings this i appreciate and thank those responsible my office has been moved to the committee room of the village fireball i can be reached by phoning 6404951 anyone wishing information or just wanting to talk about recreation please drop in and see me at any time i will be pleased
