his 98th birthday dec 8 born in yorkshire eng land the son of william and catharine simpson he came to canada bv boat in 1s94 he was 23 at the time mr simpson moved around residing for a time near agincourt then north dakota and later western canada his wife the former ida may campbell predeceas ed him in 1950 mr simpson was a self- made man who never lost faith through good times and bad while living in aberdeen saskatchewan four of their six children died he persevered how ever and became one of the communitys most pro gressive wheat farmers he was also instrumental in building a new church there on his return to stouff ville he lived on second street and operated a res taurant here for a time mr simpson seemed as well as usual when the family paid him a call at christmas he suffered a cerebral hemmorhage dec 29 and death followed two days later he was a close friend of the late fred reynolds also of stouffvilie and mr reynolds passing brought him much grief both were
