thursday jan s 1970 the tribune page 3 editors mail r i late bert hall who dismantled the pump at the windsor drive well veteran of world war i is laid to rest musselmans lake the tribune is in re ceipt of a letter from mrs herbert taylor windsor drive musselmans lake concerning the use or dis use of a community pump on the street it reads as follows dear editor my name is mrs herbert taylor i have a problem that con cerns not only myself but many of my neighbors it is the west windsor drive community well when i moved here in may there was no water in the house but a well was located nearby so i didnt mind but a sign was placed on the pump indicating that the well would be closed from oct 31 to april 15 this alarmed me so i took up a petition and had my neighbors sign it one of my neighbors told me however that the sign had been sprayed over with black paint and the well would be open all year round learning this i lore the petition up on oct 31 the man took the pump handle off what burns me up is ihe fact thai we own shares in ihis well and we want it made available to everyone my husband is on a disability pension and unable to carry water this forces me to walk down the road and pay for it believe me i only get 21100 per month to run the house on and with the cost of living the way it is i can just make ends meet i dont feel its fair that i should have to buy- water when we own a share in a perectly good pump right across the road the 600 i spend on water could be used to buy my little girla pair of shoes i thought that through the power of the press you might assist in getting our pump handle back from the man who took it he probablv has water in his home and doesnt know what its like to carry 12 pails a day perhaps if you are un able to help us you might put us in touch with someone who can enclosed is my copy of the share in the well as proof that we do have cer tain rights to its use you will notice that the word ing makes no mention of the handle being removed from the pump mrs herbert taylor windsor drive musselmans lake editors note if the writ er can reveal the identity of the gentleman who re moved the pumps handle it would assist in learning why this action was taken elect equestrian officers whitchurch twp- the annual election meet ing to name the 1970 exe cutive of the whitchurch centenial equestrian club will be held at the
