june 3 the club is now in its second year following receipt of its charter staff photo family life centre marathon walk june 14 markham a 20 mile marathon walk sponsored by the markham junior chamber of commerce with proceeds in support of the family life centre of markham unionville and stouffville will be held this saturday june 14 the walkathon will com mence from the markham fair grounds and conclude at this same location the starting time is 830 am the route extends west on hwy 7 to unionville north to the markham- whitchurch townline east to stouffville south on cone- 9 to church street markham west to main street and south to the arena seven checkpoints have been set up along the way and each entry must have his passport punched as he or she passes these lo cations the idea of the walk is to obtain as many sponsors as possible at so much money per mile for ex ample if a sponsor pledges 10c per mile and his entry completes the distance his donation is 200 entry forms will be the law with regard to the pur chase of building permits should not be accepted as an excuse councillor barnard took the stand in reply to a question on the subject from clerk thomas kerr mr kerr
