ross barkey who farmed in markham twp for nearly twenty years pass ed away in oshawa gen eral hospital jan 25 1969 he was in his 80th year mr barkey was born on the 9th cone a son of abram barkey and eliza beth clendenning he at tended school at ss no 19 mr barkey married the former florence harmer and the couple marked their golden wedding anni versary in 1963 the cou ple had farmed in the west for a time later return ing to markham twp and in 1942 took up permanent residence in oshawa deceased was a mem ber of the simcoe st pen tecostal church and sang for many years in the choir besides his widow mr barkey is survived by one son melvin h of mark ham and daughter helen mrs albert parsons oakville there are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren the funeral was conduc ted passed away at his lloyd avenue home in stouff ville jan 30 he was 67 mr connor well known and highly respected in the communities of box grove and brougham where he lived prior to coming here worked as a farmer and truck driver prior to retirement he had lived in stouffville for the past eight years for a lengthy period the deceased had been in poor health but he bore the pain with little
