on friday evening staff itiotq separate school supporters seek assessment change stouffville a petition containing 37 name was pre sented to a hearing of the stouffville court of revision last week requesting that their taxes be transferred to the support of the new separate school in town a breakdown of the total included si 14865 residential s12695 commercial and 3799 business in the two cases individual homes were occupied by per sons who wished their taxes to go to the public school it was agreed that this should be done however on the property belonging to fred bigione the land is ladies from but- tonville markham and union ville on a chartered bus tour to washington dc last week a 41 passenger bus travelled the 550 miles in a four day trip when they visited the capitol and the white house as well as many other places of interest local family at alberta airbase rev douglas percy in the evening service at 730 the rev douglas percy will be the speaker mr percy is a graduate of the toronto bible college and a former mission ary having served in nigeria with the sudan interior mission from 1938 until 1958 during his years of missionary service he founded the biliri bible train ing school for training african evangelists from 19501958 he was editorial secretary for the sudan interior mission and editor of the sudan witness magazine and at the same time was missionary counsellor at toronto bible college he has written many booklets pamphlets and magazine articles and is the author of doctor to africa the biography of dr a p stirrett also a pi izewinning novel entitled hidden valley and two recent novels when the bamboo sings and beyond the tangled mountain mr percy now serves full time as director of missions and the director of develop ment at toronto
