held a farewell party on monday evening for tawny ow mr v warden who is moving out of the district the girls donated towards a beautiful cake iced in the brow nie colour of brown and yellow which said goodbye and good luck tawny owl a gift was presented by brown owl on behalf of the girls the gilt was six silver teaspoons bear ing the brownie and guide crest on june 15 the brownies of the 1st gormley brownie pack joined with the 1st gormley guide company the occasion being an enrollment and a very special ceremony the flight of the brownies the meeting began with the brownies fairy wings followed by the formation of the guide horseshoe district commis sioner mrs gundy was there to enrol kathy thornton into the brownie pack there were seven brownies to receive their wings each girl donned a pair of coloured wings and mrs gundy pinned a small pair of golden wings to their brownie uniforms the seven brownies were everille davidson mari lyn watson elizabeth foster colleen articles pour in for central hospital gift shop mrs wm g finlay held open house at her king side- road home recently and more than one hundred guests re presenting branches of the york central hospital auxili ary were present throughout four spacious rooms of the finlay home there were racks of little girls dres ses childrens knitted wear bed jackets and cosies and every available flat surface was covered with novelties of all sorts from needle cases to toi let articles from flower ar rangements to table mats a display of beautiful kerry- craft jewellery combining na tive woods and stones was shown by mr rex sevenoakes who explained these were hand wrought by his daughter and her husband at their thornhill home and it is hoped they will be sold in the gift shop the gift shop committee pro- vides material for those mak- j ing handmade articles and such is the enthusiasm of aux iliary members that all materi als on hand at the display were given out non members have also
