dr dymond also stated that when patients leave the hospi tal they are encouraged in every way to get jobs through their own initiative this builds up confidence and self reliance in the patients and hastens the day when they can resume nor mal living only in cases where the patients are unable to find jobs for themselves does the department of health render assistance dr dymond was introduced by tenhouse is in claremont villa nursing home with a heart condition court house facilities intolerable judge hall tells ont county jury his honour judge alex c hall urged an ontario county 3ury panel last week to de mand of their elected represen tatives that adequate facilities be provided for the administra tion of justice in ontario coun ty judge hall told the jury panel he could not stress too strongly the totally intolerable condition of the 108yearold court house his honour said there is only one court room to serve a pop ulation of approximately 150 000 people johnsonbarkey team in jr farmer debating contest ontario county junior farm ers will be represented in the provincial intercounty debat ing series this year by donna johnson uxbridge ted gordon beaverton frank barkey brooklin and bruce mcmillan port perry upholdingjthe affirmative will be donna johnson and frank barkey while bruce mcmillan and ted gordon defend the negative side of the debate the two teams from ontario county will meet a similar two teams from durham county in the first round of the series two separate debates involv ing these four teams will be held in the uxbridge high school on wednesday evening dec 5th beginning at 815 pm e subject for this debate which should be interesting to rural and urban people is resolved that the county council system of government in ontario is satisfactory all junior farmers parents and friends are invited to at tend anything you as citizens can do to bring pressure to bear on the elected representa tives to build a new court house would be an act of good citizenship his honour said judge hall was forced to ad journ the general sessions of the peace of ontario county until dec 10 to make way for ontario supreme court non jury sittings as long as these elected rep resentatives are content to just let us struggle along with one court room there is noth ing we can do but delay the administration of justice his honour stated ihe pointed out there are tall kinds of courts including the ontario supreme court onta rio county court magistrates court naturalization court and various boards and commis sions are in need of court room facilities two judges will be sitting here next week and one will have to be content with using a back room somewhere every citizen in this county should object that the most important segment of our society must be carried on under these-circum- stances his honour said county council he said is doing all in its power to rectify this situation but it cant do anything without the city of oshawas assistance his honour made a special plea to oshawa jurists to take up the lack of adequate admin istration of justice facilities with their elected representa tives and demand that some thing be done to rectify the situation one thing though is that the old privies have gone we do have modern conveniences in that regard but thats all judge hall said he apologized to the jurists for the lack of a place for them to sit this is the most scandalous situation i have ever known in public life he said an ontario county grand jury at the opening of the ses sions recommended immediate action to provide adequate court roomfacilities the grand jury pointed out that the small room in which it had to meet was not flatteringtb either the jury or the witnesses who were summoned to appear before it food dr allan
