varied uniforms of every colour and description they gave ev ery indication that they would finish out of the playoff action some observers suggested that they would be hopelessly buried in the group cellar the same team that took to the ice lanes late in october is now on the brink of the playoff finals some of their players have established enviable goal- scoring records sporting brand new uniforms they are a credit to the league they will battle ringwood for the group title with the series opener on fri day night at eight oclock well balanced on friday evening of last week the aces thumped the stouffville merchants 92 in the rubber match of the semi final series the winners ex celled in every department from goaltender jim johnston to de- lenceman bob atkinson to for ward lawrence cayman like some giant octopus the mark- ham players seemed to swarm over their opposition to build up a convincing five goal lead going into the final frame coach morris procenko threw his
