hospital he was in his 66th year born in markham the son of the late jacob heisey and ida lehman the deceased owned and operated a milk route in the district for a number of years he later opened a gen eral store in north markham and more recently operated the markham planing mill he dis posed of this business six years ago the late mr heiseys busi ness life has been one of much success he erected many fine homes throughout markham village a number of which he still retains mr heisey was probably best known for his interest in the villages municipal affairs for 20 years he served on council starting in 1923 he was reeve of the village from 1938 to 1944 he was a present member of the 1958 council he also held a position on the planning board one of his greatest am bitions was to see the comple tion of a sewerage system in the village this project was agreed upon only a few days prior to his death mr heisey was an active mem ber on the markham fair board he had held office for the past 25 years and was president of the fair during that time in poitics the late mr heisey was an ardent liberal he was a past master of the markham union lodge and a shriner mr heisey was admitted to the scarboro hospital two weeks ago he had been in failing health for some time the de ceased was a member of st andrews presbyterian church markham besides his wife the former myrtle miller he is survived by one daughter dorothy mrs howard jarick of markham there are three sisters mrs burling hull of deland florida mrs john nodwell of beeton and mrs stanley harper of toronto there are three grand children marie diane and eddie orviue jarick the funeral service was conducted from dixons fu neral chapel markham tues day afternoon at 2 oclock rev d r mckillican of st andrews
