mortson mrs g joyce and mrs mccague mrs d rumney gave r talk on stewardship and a folder on same was given to each one present misses margaret smith and carol mortson sang a duet whispering hope accompan ied at the piano by mrs a mortson a donation of sio was made to the vacation school a report was given as to furnish ings purchased for parsonage dates for the bake sales are as follows august 2 august 16 refreshments were served at the close by the committee in charge vacation school with ideal weather the chil dren and leaders enjoyed a most successful vacation school the attendance was higher than in previous years the average be ing 135 persons present we do appreciate the use of headford united church and school for this worthy project mrs f leaf is the president the am ount received during the week from the offerings was 50 this money is being used to buy christian literature for chil dren of other lands bake sale the wa held a very success ful bake sale on the church lawn on friday afternoon of last week the proceeds netted the wa 4510 there will be another bake sale on the church lawn on friday july 26 but it will be conducted by the ladies from browns corners united church however on friday august 2 the wa of victoria square will be holding another bake sale on the church lawn when the members of the july august and september groups will be in charge so let us all help out in this worthy cause recentennial at the meeting on friday eve ning of last week recentennial of victoria square nothing was done as there were not enough present to make arrangements completely however another meeting has been called for fri day evening august 16 in the victoria square sunday school room so we ask everyone to keep that date open when it is hoped that
