Notes:
Thorton's Corners School was originally built in 1835, but was eventually replaced in the 1870s by a group of Methodists and used as a worship centre. The building was used once again as a school when school section 5 was formed in East Whitby. It was eventually put under the control of the Oshawa School Board in the 1950s.
The building is now Thornton Community Centre, 210 Thorton Rd. N. at Adelaide Ave.
