Part of Main Street burned down. One of the most rearful fires this village has ever suffered, broke out Saturday morning, Dec. 6, 1862 in a wooden tenement occupied by Mr. Dieterlie, watch-maker; and owing to some want of attention o the part of those having the engine in charge, it was not brought into requisition until the flames had spread to the adjoining buildings South, the wind, all the while blowing strongly from the north.
