Held in Newmarket Model School was semi-annual meeting of teacher's association of York region, which included 75 attendees and President D. Fotheringham. Miss Fidell of Newmarket taught a lesson with her children in the morning session and the teacher's superannuation fund was discussed, as well as text books and high school funding. Mister Dickson, Principal of Newmarket High School was chair in the afternoon. Minister of Education Hon. G.W. Ross spoke in the evening at the Town Hall after a meal at Forsyth House. He spoke about the Department of Education’s responsibility to manage half a million children, separate and public schools, Upper Canada College and the university within costs, as his primary aim.
