Formerly the property of a married woman belonged to her husband, and she could claim nothing in her own right, except through some evasion of the law. According to the provisions of the new Act, however, all property of whatever kind inherited by, bequeathed to, or joined by a married woman becomes her sole property, free from all control of her husband, as if she were single.
