On Wednesday last, a young man named Driscoll, with his mother and a young woman named Kane, came down from St. John's Island in a skiff; arriving within about a mile off the village, they found their way obstructed by a shet of ice, and Driscoll got out and attempted to pull the boat up on the ice; in doing so the boat upset, and the women were thrown into the water.
