Ottawa, May 6.—In reply to a ques¬tion as to what becomes of the tariff and taxation changes if Parliament is dissolved before the Budget is pass¬ed, the Prime Minister said to-night that "the situation will ho the same as in 1926. The tariff and taxation changes already are In effect, and will remain in effect, no matter whether the Budget Is passed and receives the Royal assent or not. In 1026 the liutl get had passed both Houses of Parliament and awaited the Royal assent when Parliament was dissolved. It received the Royal assent after the new Parliament was elected.
