Description
Full Text

Weston, Feb. 2. With a Midland-bound C.P.R. train so close that other drivers had halted their cars on both sides of the crossing, George E. Cunnington of Mount Dennis tried to sneak his small truck across the tracks at Dennison Avenue Saturday evening.

He was late for supper, but he never got to his house at 37 Bartonville Ave., in Mount Dennis. The half-ton truck stalled just as it straddled the tracks. A few seconds later it was a total wreck, while Cunnington lay, a mangled body, at the side of the tracks. The demolished truck was hurled 75 feet from the crossing, Cunnington being thrown clear when the wreckage landed. He was 52 years old and leaves a widow, one son and two daughters.
