Mathew Deyholos died suddenly at his home, Elizabeth Street, Grimsby, last Friday, in his 72nd year. Born in Austria on January 15, 1881, he came to Canada 50 years ago, settling in Manitoba where he became a grain farmer. He moved to Grimsby 5 years ago.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Mary Hykawy, are two sons and five daughters: William, of Grimsby; Morris, of Porcupine Plains, Sask.; Mrs. Peter Kalin, of Alma, Manitoba; Mrs. Harry Shewchuk and Mrs. William Fydirhchuk, both of Garland, Manitoba; Mrs. Peter Caruk, of Grimsby; Mrs. John Skosby, Toronto; also a brother, Joseph, of Grand View, Manitoba, and 18 grandchildren.
The body rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home. Funeral service was held in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Grimsby, on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
