Joseph Henry Heywood, a resident of Lime Ridge Road, Chedoke, P.Q., died last Wednesday at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, where he had been a patient for the last two weeks.

In his 62nd year, he was born in London, England, and came to Canada 25 years ago. He had lived in the Grimsby and Smithville districts before moving to Hamilton.

He was a veteran of World War I, having served with the Dorset Regiment in the British Army. In religion, he was a member of St. Timothy's Anglican Church, Barton Township.

Surviving, besides his wife, Elizabeth Heywood, are two sons and five daughters: Dennis, of Grimsby; Roy, of Levack; Mrs. Russell Smith, Grimsby; Mrs. Jean Collins, Hamilton; Mrs. Kenneth Smith, of Callander; and the Misses Margaret and Carol, at home. Seven grandchildren also survive.

The body rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home, Grimsby, for service on Saturday afternoon. Burial was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
