Robert E. Book in Car Accident Four Weeks ago - Prominent in Business and Municipal Circles

Robert E. Book of Smithville died Sunday as a result of a car accident sustained four weeks ago, in Hamilton.

He was the founder of the firm of Robert E. Book and Sons in 1904, and has been a prominent figure in the builders' supply and lumber business in the Niagara district.

Born in South Grimsby 74 years ago, the son of John Albert and Eliza Kemp Book, he as also closely connected with local municipal affairs, having been a trustee on the Smithville High School Board for three years; reeve of South Grimsby Township from 1925-34, and warden of Lincoln County for 1931.

Mr. Book was also a past master of Coronation Lodge, No. 502, A.F. and A.M., and a member of Smithville Chapter, No. 240, R.A.M.

Surviving besides his wife, the former Edith Field, are four sons, Fred and Dorwin of Smithville, Clarence of Niagara Falls, Ont., Bert of Stamford; four grandchldren; three brothers, John of Grimsby Beach, James of Smithville and Leslie of Hamilton.
