William Henry Atkinson, life-long resident of the district, died at Smithville, July 23rd, in his 70th year. He was born in Caistor Township on October 9, 1882, a son of the late Reuben Atkinson, and had farmed in that township until moving to Smithville last year. He was a member of Grace United Church.

Surviving, besides his wife, the former Mabel Thomas, is a son, Norman Atkinson, of Grimsby; also four daughters, Mrs. Stella Willick, of Chippawa; Mrs. Hattie Dancer, Smithville; Mrs. Pearl Olaski, Caistor Township; and Mrs. Beatrice Parker, of Burlington; also three brothers and five sisters: John, of Grimsby; James, of Caistor; George, of York; Mrs. Walter Wilcox, Grimsby; Mrs. Amelia Singer, York; Mrs. Theresa O'Connell, in Oregon; Mrs. Anne Pearson, Canfield, and Miss Beatrice Atkinson, Caistor.
